Abstract

574,978. Signal combining circuit. WHITE, E. L. C. Dec. 24, 1943, No. 21678. [Class 40 (iv)] [Also in Group XL] Signals from two or more sources 1, 2 such as microphones or television cameras are combined in such a way that each signal circuit is unaffected by the presence of the others by connecting the signal circuits in parallel to the input circuit of a tube 5 having a feed-back resistance 12 connected between its output and input circuits so as to reduce its effective input resistance to a value small compared with the resistance of any of the signal circuits and preferably compared with that of all of such circuits in parallel. Resistances 3 and 4 may be adjustable or may be fixed and connected to the sliders of potentiometers connected across the sources. These resistances may be the internal resistances of the sources. Blocking condensers 6, 11 are omitted when the currents to be mixed have direct current components, the grid of the valve being suitably biassed.
