640,157. Switching systems. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. March 3, 1947, No. 6048. Convention date, March 27, 1946. [Class 38 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXIX] In a switching system used for monitoring several receivers A ... C switches 19 ... 21 in their left-hand positions complete parallel circuits between wires 15, 16 and in their righthand positions complete a series path 31-32, the arrangement being such that any such switch in its left-hand position connects the parallel circuit to the lower portion of the series path and disconnects its upper portion. With the switch 22 in its lower position any combination of the receivers A ... C can be connected via the amplifier 10 to the headphones 11 by throwing the appropriate switches to the left, the resistances 23 being high enough to prevent interaction between the receivers. If the amplifier 10 is faulty, switch 22 is put into its upper position for direct connection with the receivers, the arrangement being such that only one receiver can be connected to the headphones at any one time.
