Abstract

573,784. Twist tubes for use in consolidating slubbings &c. EVANS, W. E. (Akt.-Ges. J. J. Rieter & Cie.). July 15, 1942, No. 9848. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, July 15, 1942.] [Class 120 (ii)] Slubbings or rovings are consolidated in an apparatus comprising drawing rollers 3, Fig. 1, delivery rollers 15 and at least one twist tube 6 disposed between the rollers 3, 15 and nearer to the delivery rollers than to the drawing rollers the twist tube 6 being rotated about its axis alternately in opposite directions. A number of twist tubes 6 may be provided having a common driving means comprising a belt 9, Fig. 3 passing over pulleys 8 and driven by a pulley 10 itself driven from a motor 13 having a pole-reversing switch.
