Abstract

572,055. Piston packing. ANGUS & CO., Ltd., G., and SAKER, P. R. Feb. 8, 1944, No. 2299. Addition to 560,515. [Class 122 (i)] In a rubber double cup washer as claimed in the parent Specification having a rigid base washer b, formed with axial abutments b<1> to limit the degree of clamping on the rubber washer, the rigid base is of metal and perforated at b<2>. Alternatively the rigid base comprises a pair of perforated syntheticresin impregnated fabric discs. In a further form the rigid base comprises discs d and a tubular wad d<1> of synthetic-resin impregnated fabric and the cup washer is formed of rubber impregnated fabric a<1> moulded and vulcanised together. Specifications 544,904 and 566,329 are referred to.
