The table described in the parent Specification is modified by replacing the rotatable cylinder and balls, which normally engage an internally grooved outer tube, by a cylindrical member 64 which is provided with longitudinal slits to form resilient tongues 64a ... 64c terminating in a bead 65, the latter being adapted to engage selectively one of the grooves in the outer tube 50 by operation of the cam member 59 at the lower end of the central rod 55. The member 64 is preferably made of a superpolyamidic material.
