Abstract

571,898. Light current switches. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., BURROUGHES, E. R., and LIGHTFOOT, H.H. Nov. 30, 1943, No. 19978. [Class 38 (v)] A switch particularly adapted for mounting on a radio receiver comprises two parallel insulating side members 1 carrying on their inner surfaces sav six fixed contacts each as shown, two end members serving to hold the side members spaced apart a longitudinally-moving insulating slide mounted on a metal bar 10 which slides through apertures in the end members, the insulating slide carrying on its outer sides contacts which co-operate with the fixed contacts. In the arrangement shown the slide has two positions, there are two contacts such as shown in Fig. 3a on each side of the slide 1 and the top 11 of each contact is adapted to bridge two adjacent fixed contacts. The fixed contacts are in the form of clips held in place by eyelets 7 and the blades 11 enter between the two sides of the clips. A locating ball is also provided. A retractive spring may be provided.
