Abstract
641,506. Switchgear structures; contacts; controllers. EGA ELECTRIC, Ltd., and KILMINSTER, G. Jan. 7, 1948, No. 517. [Classes 38(iii) and 38(v)] Switchgear including a contactor 36 is mounted on a support 35 detachably secured within a case 10 having terminals 30 connected to an external circuit and the contactor may be connected to or isolated from the terminals 30 by operation of a handle 51 which moves conducting bars 46 relatively to the support 35 into engagement with clip-type contacts 15 connected to the terminals. Each contact is shaped as in Fig. 6, the back plate 19 having a hole 29 allowing the co-operating blade 46 to pass right through. The other ends of the bars 46 have permanent sliding engagement with similar contacts 43 mounted on the support 35. The bars or blades 46 are mounted on a carrier consisting of two parts 53, 54 which when clamped together define stepped passageways for the reception of stepped portions of the bars, Fig. 3. Specification 641,269 is referred to. The Provisional Specification refers to Specification 641,255.
