Abstract
571,343. Two-part couplings. BRUNO PATENTS, Inc. June 23, 1943, Nos. 10161 and 10162. Convention dates, June 23, 1942, and Sept. 18, 1942. [Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A coupling for the outer conductor sections 1 of a coaxial electrical cable comprises coupling members 11, 21 having interengaging conical surfaces 4, 10, the angle of the surface 4 being slightly smaller than the angle of the surface 10 so that they contact at their inner ends 7, the flanges 31, 32 of the members being connected by bolts 19 and one or more loose flanges 11. Packing 16 may be provided in a recess in the member 1<1> and compressed by a rib 18 on the end face of the member 2<1>. A shoulder 5 on the member 1<1>, Fig. 7, contacts the end face of the member 2<1> to prevent undue distortion of the conical end 4 of the member 1<1>.
