Abstract
565,149. Couplings. MULLARD RADIO VALVE CO., Ltd., LATIMER, K. E., and SMITH, S. C. Feb. 25, 1943, No. 3115. [Class 38 (i)] A joint for a hollow conductor whose inner and outer surfaces both operate as wave guides in a high-frequency system, e.g. the intermediate conductor of three concentric conductors, comprises two sets of resilient contact members arranged to complete independent paths over the inner and outer surfaces. The surfaces may be of polished silver. One of the conductors 2 has resilient fingers 4 that continue the outer surface of the conductor and engage a shoulder 10 on the conductor 7. On the conductor 7 are fingers 8 that continue its inner surface and have projections 9 that engage the inner surface of the conductor 2. The parts may be formed with interengaging fastenings to hold the conductors together. The two sets of fingers may be on 'the same conductor and arranged to engage outside and inside the other conductor. The joint may be applied to polygonal or other shaped conductors.
