[Class 60] In a centreless grinding machine the slide on which the control wheel and work-holder are mounted is initially set by hand and traversed by power, the means comprising a thrust coupling mounted on the shaft of the slide adjusting screw and carrying a follower engaging a transversely reciprocated cam plate. The slide a carries the control wheel centred at a<1> and the work-holder, and is adjusted by a screwed shaft c engaging a nut b thereon; the nut b bears against a return spring h. The traverse is effected by means of a sleeve d secured to the screw shaft c and fitted with a follower e engaging a cam f on a slide g which may be reciprocated hydraulically.
