Abstract

570,754. Heat radiators. SANKEY & SONS, Ltd., J., and MILLINGTON, F. J. Sept. 23, 1943, No. 15606. [Class 64 (ii)] A radiator comprises a flat front wall A and a fluted rear wall B, providing vertical passages bl for circulation of liquid. The flutes do not extend to the top and bottom, leaving headers connecting the vertical passages. Both walls are flanged rearwardly, and welded together. The radiator is filled with hot water and then closed. Heating is effected by a pipe C passing through the lower part of the radiator, through which hot liquid is circulated. The pipe C may be a by-pass from a supply line. In Fig. 4, the radiator is set against a wall, the part a<1> conforming to the skirting. An independent closed section D is heated by a main pipe E, the pipe C in the upper part being a by-pass. In Fig. 5, the pipe C is arranged in a groove below the radiator.
