Abstract

1,077,014. Plate heat exchangers. S. DOYLE. Aug. 6, 1964 [Oct. 8, 1963], No. 31980/64. Heading F4S. In a method of heating water in a plate type heat exchanger of the kind normally used for pasteurizing milk, and comprising a regenerative section 2, heating section 3 and holding section 4, the water is pumped from a supply tank 5 through the regeneratve section 2 which is inoperative to the heating section in which it is heated by hot water from an electric flow heater. The heated water then passes to a storage tank 7 either directly or by way of the holding section 4. If necessary the water from the storage tank may be recirculated through the heat exchanger to raise its temperature. The water is withdrawn from storage tank 7 through a tap 8.
