Abstract
570,020. Control of motors. BOURNE. H. T. Sept. 24, 1943, No. 15697. [Class 38 (iii)] Continuous reversals of a motor are obtained by a control shaft a driven by the motor and driving through worm gearing a2, b and Geneva mechanism b3, c a commutator switch controlling the supply of current to a solenoid e operating a rotary reversing switch h', h2, k<1>, k<4>. The reversing switch, which is of the commutator type, is rotated by a pawl f<2> and ratchet g, the pawl being carried by a disc f pivoted on the shaft gl of the reversing switch and having an arm f<1> moved by the core el of the solenoid. The core e<1> is connected to a dash pot j which provides for rapid breaking and slower making of the circuits controlled by the reversing switch.
