Abstract

569,520. Drawing ; extruding; rolling; stamping. NICOL & CO., Ltd., R. D., and ANDERSON, D. M. Dec. 3, 1943, No. 20258. [Class 83 (iv)] [Also in Group III] Sheets, bars, tubes, &c. of stainless steel, aluminium alloys, manganese bronze, brass, copper, &c. are treated prior to working by immersion in, or scrubbing or spraying with, a solution of lubricant in a volatile solvent, the solution also containing organic compounds of lead, sulphur, chlorine or phosphorous. The solvent may consist of a chlorinated hydrocarbon such as trichlorethylene, and the lubricant may be a heavy mineral hydrocarbon oil, animal or vegetable oil or fat, or an animal, vegetable, mineral, or synthetic wax.
