[Class 35] The heat generated due to slip in a variable speed electromagnetic coupling is dissipated in a stationary external electric circuit provided with cooling means. In the form shown, the coupling consists of a toothed member 7 with an exciting winding fed through a regulator for adjusting the speed and an armature 1 with windings 5 connected through slip rings 6 to an impedance consisting of steel-tubes through which air or water may be passed.
