569,209. Pistons. SPECIALLOID, Ltd., and ROBINSON, A. S. Sept 6, 1943, No. 14556. [Class 122 (i)] The gudgeon pin bosses are each integral with a thickened portion 17 of the head which extends acrossthe piston. Ribs 16, 20 and 19 may be provided respectively around the inner ends of the bosses, circumferentially or axially of the skirt between the bosses, and in parallel arrangement on the underside of the head. The skirt is relieved externally around the bosses, e.g., by rotating the piston about an eccentric axis with respect to a rotary cutter.
