Abstract
568,892. Stoppers &c. FREEMAN, W. S. April 5, 1943, No. 5430. [Class 125 (iii)] A stopper or cap for bottles, jars, carboys, &c. is provided with at least one hole 7 therethrough, from which extends inwardly and/or outwardly an integral, thin-walled, short, flexible tube 6 of the same diameter as the hole, to provide a grip for a separate rigid tube or tubular member passing completely through, for the passage of fluid. Two or more such extension tubes may be provided which may be integral with one another for the whole or part of their length, and the wall of the hole and tube may be serrated as at 9 or otherwise formed to enhance the sealing contact with the separate tube. A metal or plastic cap 13 which may be separate may be fitted on the closure. The closures may be of rubber, thermoplastic or other resilient or semi - resilient material. Several different forms of closure are described.
