593,158. Stoppers for bottles and like containers. ASHBY, E. N. April 20, 1945, No. 9954. [Class 125 (iii) ] A stopper consisting of a substantial cylindrical bung having one or more narrow bores 2 longitudinally through its body has an upper resilient portion 3 formed with a slit 4 for the release of gases that may develop in a stoppered container. The upper portion 3 may be held in place by a metal cap 5 having a central circular hole. The body part and upper portion may be integral.
