OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to a synthetic closure for the closure of bottles, in particular for wine bottles, comprising at least one longitudinal slot completely through the stopper and allowing gaseous exchange between the inside. and the outside of the bottle leading to wine aging.
State of the art Bottles of wine are usually stored in cellars for a long time, to age the wine and make it mature. Cork stoppers are generally used to seal the bottles because they allow gaseous exchange between the inside and the outside of the bottle. This gas exchange is necessary for aging the wine, to make it mature and make it take all these characteristic aromas. However, the good aging of the wine often depends on the quality of the cork and such corks can give the wine what is commonly called a taste of cork, after a longer or shorter storage time in the cellar.
Thus, it has been proposed the use of synthetic closures for closing and storing wine bottles, as they are flexible, liquid-tight and do not give a wine-corky taste. However, the conventional synthetic plugs do not allow the necessary gas exchange between the interior of the bottle and the ambient air, to drive the wine to maturity.
As shown in FIG. 1, the document US-A-2004/0074862 describes a synthetic plug 10 comprising a central duct 11, of substantially tubular shape, inside which is housed a membrane 12 comprising a plurality of size orifices. microscopic. These micro orifices of the membrane 12 make it possible to solve the aforementioned drawbacks by allowing the gaseous exchange necessary for the aging of the wine and preventing the leakage of liquid.
However, the manufacture of such a synthetic plug is very difficult because it requires inserting several pieces after molding the synthetic plug. This results in an expensive synthetic cap, difficult to implement and less effective.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The object of the invention is to remedy the abovementioned drawbacks and its object is the production of an inexpensive, easy-to-use synthetic plug allowing the necessary gaseous exchange between the inside and the outside. of the bottle, while modulating the aging speed of the wine.
The object of the invention is characterized in that said longitudinal slot is of predefined shape and of millimeter dimensions during its formation and partially rebases by expansion of material after its formation.
According to a development of the invention, the slot is of substantially ovoidal shape during its formation, with a thickness and a width dependent on the dimensions of the stopper and the desired aging time of the wine.
Such a synthetic stopper, with a slit practically invisible to the naked eye once formed, makes it possible to obtain an optimal aging of the wine, thanks to the partial filling of the slit after its formation, and makes it possible to regulate the aging time of the wine depending on the dimensions of the slot.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Other advantages and features will emerge more clearly from the following description of particular embodiments of the invention given by way of nonlimiting example and represented in the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. sectional view of a synthetic plug according to the prior art. Figure 2 is a perspective view of a particular embodiment of a synthetic plug according to the invention. FIG. 3 is a greatly enlarged section along the axis AA of part of the synthetic plug according to FIG. 1. FIG. 4 is a top view of the synthetic plug according to FIG. 2. FIGS. top view of embodiments of a synthetic plug according to the invention.
DESCRIPTION OF SPECIFIC EMBODIMENTS With reference to the figures, the synthetic stopper 10 is particularly intended to stop bottles of wine stored in the cellar for the aging of the wine. The plug 10 has a longitudinal slot 13 of predefined shape and millimeter dimensions. The slot 13 completely through the cap 10, to act as connecting means between the gases present inside the bottle and the ambient air. The shape and dimensions of the slit 13 are dependent on the desired aging time for the wine.
Whatever the embodiment of the synthetic cap 10 described below, it can be achieved by means of a machine comprising at least one motion generator, for example a pneumatic cylinder, equipped with a perforating tool. The perforating tool is preferably a cutting blade, having a section of predefined shape and millimetric dimensions, identical to the desired shape and dimensions of the slot 13. The blade has a solid section and a sharp pointed end, allowing in particular to remove the material of the plug 10, when it penetrates inside, without removing the material.
The simple actuation of the motion generator causes a return of the blade through the plug 10 and the formation of the slot 13. This results in the partial filling of the slot 13, after removal of the blade, thanks to the nature of the material constituting the synthetic plug 10 and thanks to the millimetric dimensions of the slot 13 thus produced.
After its formation, the slot 13 is virtually invisible to the naked eye, with a substantially linear shape and a virtually zero thickness. The slot 13 thus allows gaseous exchange between the inside and the outside of the bottle and prevents the evacuation of liquid. The predefined dimensions of the slit 13 are chosen according to the desired aging time of the wine.
Furthermore, to obtain a synthetic plug 10 with several slots 13, simply move the plug 10 facing the blade of the machine, according to the different desired positions of the slots 13, and actuate the motion generator to perforate the plug 10 and realize the corresponding slot 13.
It is also possible to provide a machine with several blades corresponding to the number of slots 13 desired inside the plug 10, the blades being then actuated by one or more generators of movement.
In Figures 2 to 9, the dimensions of the slots 13 have been exaggerated for the sake of clarity and understanding. The shapes of the slots 13 shown in the figures are those of the slots 13 during their formation by the perforating tool. Once formed, the slots 13 are virtually invisible to the naked eye, of substantially linear shape and of virtually zero thickness.
In FIGS. 2 to 4, the plug 10 has a slit 13a, of substantially ovoidal shape during its formation, coaxial with the reference axis AA of the synthetic plug 10 and preferably formed in the center of the synthetic plug 10.
In FIG. 3, the plug 10 is made of synthetic elastomer material, preferably a polyolefin. It is constituted by a plurality of micropores 14, resulting from the manufacture by injection of the synthetic stopper 10 and the injunction of a nontoxic porogenic agent.
Once formed, the ovoidal slot 13a rebounds by expansion of material and acts as connecting means between the micropores 14, to form a passage, or a channel, allowing gaseous exchange between the inside and the outside of the bottle and preventing the evacuation of liquid.
During the gas exchange, the gases leaving the bottle carry with them some components, such as tannins, which will then settle on the walls of the channel thus formed. As a result, the rate of gas exchange decreases until the plug 10 becomes completely sealed. This is the sign that the wine has reached maturity.
For example, the length L1 of the synthetic plug 10 is of the order of 38mm, 44mm or 49mm and the diameter D1 of the synthetic plug 10 is of the order of 22mm. The width L2 of the ovoidal slot 13a is between 2 mm and 10 mm, preferably of the order of 5 mm, and the thickness e of the ovoid slot 13 a during its formation is of the order of 1 mm. For example, for a width L2 of the slot 13a of the order of 5 mm, the aging time of the wine is faster with a plug 10 of length L1 of the order of 38 mm with a plug 10 of length L1 of the order of 49mm.
In Figures 4 to 9, the size of the slots 13 has been exaggerated for reasons of clarity. In the alternative embodiments shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the synthetic plug 10 differs from the previous embodiment by the number of ovoid slots 13a and by their position inside the plug 10.
In Figure 5, the slots 13a are identical to the oval slot 13a of Figures 2 to 4 and are distributed symmetrically with respect to the axis AA (Figure 2), to achieve a particular geometric shape. For example, the slots 13a are positioned at the four cardinal points to substantially form a cross.
In FIG. 6, the slits 13a of the plug 10 are all identical to the ovoid slot 13a of FIGS. 2 to 4 and are distributed randomly inside the plug 10.
In the alternative embodiments shown in FIGS. 7 to 9, the synthetic plug 10 differs from the preceding embodiments by the shape and the dimensions of the slot 13 during its formation via the corresponding perforating tool.
In FIG. 7, the plug 10 comprises a longitudinal slot 13b of substantially circular shape, coaxial with the reference axis AA of the plug 10 (FIG. 2) and made in the center of the plug 10. The circular slot 13b plays the same role as the ovoidal slot 13a shown in Figures 2 to 6, namely perform the connection between the micropores 14 of the synthetic plug 10, after its formation, to allow gaseous exchange between the inside and outside of the bottle.
By way of example, the circular slot 13b has a diameter D2 of the order of 1 mm, during its formation, for a diameter D1 of the plug 10 of the order of 22 mm and a length L1 of the plug 10 of the order of 38mm, 44mm or 49mm. In all cases, the maximum diameter D2 allowed is calculated to allow partial closure of the slot 13b by expansion of material, after its formation. As before, the circular slot 13b becomes virtually invisible to the naked eye after its formation.
In the embodiment shown in Figure 8, the synthetic plug 10 has a plurality of circular slots 13b symmetrically distributed within the plug 10 relative to the reference axis AA of the plug 10 (Figure 2). The circular slots 13b are arranged, for example, at the same imaginary circle, of diameter smaller than the diameter of the plug 10.
In the variant embodiment shown in FIG. 9, the synthetic plug 10 has a plurality of circular slots 13b distributed randomly inside the plug 10.
Such a synthetic plug 10, with one or more slots 13 of millimeter dimensions during their formation and virtually invisible to the naked eye after their formation, thus allows to obtain an optimal gas exchange contributing to the good aging of the wine. The slot 13 partially rebases by expansion of material, which avoids any problem of liquid leakage. Thanks to the particular dimensions of the slot 13, it remains virtually invisible to the naked eye after formation and does not harm the aesthetic appearance of the cap 10. Moreover, it is possible to influence the aging characteristics of the wine by varying the shape, the size and / or the number of the slots 13. The multiplication of the slots 13 inside the synthetic plug 10 makes it possible in particular to increase its efficiency.
The invention is not limited to the various embodiments described above. The size, the shape and the number of slots 13 are not limiting. They depend on the size of the stopper 10 and the desired aging time for the wine.
Slots 13 may be tangent to the contour of plug 10 or open on the contour of plug 10.
In the case of a synthetic plug 10 with several slots 13, they may all be identical to each other (Figures 5, 6 and 8, 9) or may be different in shape and size.
The slots 13 may be distributed symmetrically inside the plug 10 in a completely different form, for example in a star, a circle, etc.
Whatever the distribution of the slots 13 inside the plug 10, namely symmetrical (Figures 5 and 8) or random (Figures 6 and 9), the number of slots 13 depends on the desired aging time for the wine.
In another variant embodiment, not shown, the slots 13 may be intersecting, whether they are symmetrically distributed (FIGS. 5 and 8) or randomly (FIGS. 6 and 9) and that they are ovoidally shaped (FIGS. 5 and 6). or circular (Figures 8 and 9).
The synthetic stopper 10 can be made of any other synthetic elastomeric material, as long as it allows partial filling of the slot 13 by expansion of material, without any side effects, especially on the taste of the wine.
1. Synthetic cap (10) for closing bottles, especially for wine bottles, having at least one longitudinal slot (13) completely through the plug (10) and allowing a gas exchange between the inside and the outside of the bottle leading to the aging of the wine, characterized in that said longitudinal slot (13) is of predefined shape and of millimeter dimensions during its formation and partially rebases by expansion of material after its formation.
