Abstract

725,860. Stoppers; bottles.LARRIEU, H. C., and LAFFITTE, J. L. April 22, 1953, No. 11112/53. Classes 125 (1) and 125 (3). A bottle stopper of thermoplastic material has a head 1 with a flange 3 which rests on the bottle neck and an internal peripheral recess 4 and a hollow body portion 5 having ribs 6, 7 on its outer surface and a bead 8. The head has projections 2 to facilitate grasping thereof. In a modification, Fig. 4, the stopper resembles a champagne cork and has grooves 10 to receive retaining wires, a depression 14 to receive a metal plate and handle 17, the lower edge 15 of the head resting on the ring 16 of the champagne bottle. It is stated the stopper may be used as a cup or a measure.
