Abstract

567,658. Cleaning pipes. GLENFIELD & KENNEDY, Ltd., BARRETT, S. G., and WALTON, R. June 15, 1943, No. 9657. [Class 99 (ii)] An internal scraper comprises a body 10, longitudinal guides 17 resiliently mounted on the body and curved scraper blades 19 secured to the guides and so arranged that the whole surface of the pipe is scraped. A brush 21 is mounted at the rear of the scrapers and the . device may be pulled through the pipe or propelled by fluid pressure. Segmental flaps (not shown) may be pivotally secured behind the brush. They are adapted to convert the device into a piston for fluid propulsion, but will yield to obstructions.
