628,850. Cleaning pipes and tubes. LEWENHAGEN, G. A. Feb. 24, 1947, No. 5371. [Class 99(ii)] A casing 2 is moved through a pipe owing to the action upon its rear end of fluid under pressure filling the pipe behind the casing, and an eccentric weight 12 mounted within the casing is rotated so as to rotate and vibrate the casing. Cleaning is effected by fins 15 at the rear end of the casing and helical ribs 16 at the forward end; also, a cone 4 with cutting points 20 is fixed to the front end of the casing to cut through sediment, assisted, if necessary, by a tool inserted in a slot 22. The weight 12 is fixed to a shaft 9 mounted in bearings 6, 8 in the casing and rotated by a turbine wheel 11 acted on by fluid entering by channels 13 and discharged through outlets 14. The fluid may be water or steam.
