Abstract

616,923. Mincing-machines. MACFARLANE, ARTHUR & CO., Ltd., and SMITH, T. A. G. Sept. 23, 1946. No. 28373. [Class 28 (ii)] [Also in Group XXIII] A mincing-machine comprises a longitudinally split casing with one or both parts 1, 1<1> pivotally mounted about an axis 3, a helix 6 within the casing and a change-speed gearbox 10 with output shaft 9 connected by a tongue and slot connection 8 to the helix shaft 7. The gearbox may be split in register with the casing into two parts connected by bolts, the driving gears being mounted on a sleeve 13 adjustable longitudinally of the box by a pin 20 mounted in a slot 22. The casing parts 1, 1<1> are held together by a nut 23 enclosing a perforated disc 25 outside of which is a cutter disc 27, clamped to the helix shaft by a nut 29. The base has pivotally secured to it a clamping lever 30 operated by a hand lever 35 turning an eccentric 34 between the lever 30 and base.
