567,463. Two-stroke engines; valves. JAMESON, J. L. May 13, 1943, No. 7676. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (vi)] In a two-stroke engine, a piston valve 7 controlling the working fluid and arranged coaxially with the cylinder 1 is reciprocated oppositely to the piston 3 by an eccentric 9 on the crank-shaft, the eccentric operating a push-rod 8 which at its upper end slides in a guide 8<1> and carries a pivoted arm 11 adapted to rock a sleeve arranged transversely of the cylinder near its head and formed rigid with an arm 13 to which the valve 7 is pivoted. The sleeve is mounted eccentrically on a pivot rod, the eccentricity permitting the arms to adjust themselves to the straight-line rnotions of the valve and push-rod.
