Abstract
566,514. S t e a m superheaters. YARROW, SIR H. E. May 12, 1943, No. 7549. [Class 123 (iii)] A steam superheater comprising three passes of U-tubes b<1>, b<2>, b<3> mounted on a drum a with partitions d, d<1>, is provided with a pipe e extending in U-form through the greater part of the length of the drum. Steam from the outlet of the pass b<1> travels through the pipe e to the space between partitions d, d<1> outside trough f, and thence into the second pass b<2>. This operation is repeated between the second and third passes. Water is sprayed into the pipe at g. The pipe e may extend in U-form between the outlet of pass b<2> and the inlet of pass b<3>.
