Abstract

565,678. Building - slabs. HILLS PATENT GLAZING CO., Ltd., and HINCHLIFFE, E. D. Jan. 29, 1943, Nos. 1524, 1525 and 15663. [Class 87 (i)] Slabs a for floors, roofs, walls, &c. are of sheetlike form and of a length to span the distance between the centre lines of the framework members of the roof &c. so as to seat thereon with the ends in contact, one of the ends being formed with a dovetail tongue b and the other end with a dovetail recess c so as to interlock ; the other edges may also have interlocking dovetail tongue and recess so that the adjacent courses may be interlocked. Projections d on the underside of the slab are adapted to engage the edges of the frame members to locate the slabs thereon and the slab may be recessed at m for lightness. Fig. 6 shows the meeting ends of a pair of the slabs with projections e, e<1> on the underside contacting the edges of the frame member g and secured thereto by pins f passed through apertures in the projections. The slabs may be roughened to receive a coating p of concrete or ribbed to anchor earthenware &c. tiles thereto, or wooden &c. inserts n, Fig. 8, may be embedded therein to take sheet metal, floor boards, &c.
