223,653. Morton, B. July 25, 1923. Bricks, special shapes of.-Bricks are formed with one or more deep or shallow grooves in one side or one or both end's for reinforcing rods. Fig. 1 shows a wall, each course of which consists of bricks grooved on one end and laid with the plain ends abutting the grooved ends. In the construction shown in Fig. 3, alternate courses consist of bricks c with a single end groove, and bricks d with a deep groove in the centre of one face; the bricks k are rebated at each end, and the bricks u are plain. Perforated strips v may be laid in the joints. In some cases, the grooves may be inclined to the exposed faces. Specification 15802/13 is referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 6406/93, 6866/95, 17379/02, 2087/07, 7590/08, 19281/08, 7614/14, and 187,289, [Class 20 (iv), Floors &c.].
