Abstract
564,245. Electric conductors. DURATUBE & WIRE, Ltd., and VEIT, J. June 18, 1943, No. 9813. [Class 36] A " push-back " insulation for an electric conductor consists of a coating of fibrous material, a flexible thermoplastic layer and an adherent fibrous covering. The coating consists of cotton, artificial silk or glass fibre. The thermoplastic layer, e.g. polyvinyl chloride, is extruded on this coating or wrapped in the form of an adhesive tape. The outer fibrous covering is made adherent by impregnation with polyvinyl chloride, acetate or acetal, methacrylic ester or polystyrene in benzene or toluene, or cyclohexanol or methylene chloride may be used.
