Abstract
990,195. Cables. SUMITOMO ELECTRIC INDUSTRIES Ltd. June 1, 1962 [June 2, 1961], No. 21324/62. Heading H1A. A cable is made by winding a non-porous tape around stranded conductors and applying a layer of a polythene compound containing an organic peroxide and causing a reaction to produce cross-linked polythene insulation. The conductors may be lapped with two layers of tape, the inner layer of porous material and the outer of non-porous material. The former may be of polythene terephthalate, polyamide or P.T.F.E. and the latter of semi-conductive rubber coated fabric.
