Abstract

563,596. Vehicle wheels. KELSEYHAYES WHEEL CO. Dec. 9, 1942, No. 17544. Convention date, May 11, 1942. [Class 144 (i)] A wheel for airplanes, &c. comprises side elements 2, 3 each having a body portion 11 and a rim portion 12 formed with a flared part 18, a conical reinforcing element 5 riveted to the side elements, and a flanged annulus 4 extending between the flared parts 18 and co-operating with the rim portions 12 to form a tyre-carrying rim. The side elements, reinforcing element and annulus may be formed from sheet metal. One side element 2 has secured thereto by means of bolts 23, a brake 17, a clearance space being provided between the brake and the rim.
