Abstract
562,697. Pumps. GODFREY & PARTNERS, Ltd., Sir G., and THEED, W. D. L. Jan. 7, 1943, No. 303. [Class 7 (ii)] In an engine A provided with a blower B for scavenging or supercharging or both, a steam generator 'E heated by engine exhaust supplies steam 'for driving a steam engine C connected by a freewheel coupling D to the blower, allowing the steam engine to be overrun when the blower is driven through gearing from the engine A. Exhaust steam from the engine C may be delivered through an injector into the exhaust pipe F of the engine A. The generator E may be of the thimble-tube type.
