561,784. Globes. CARTRIDGE, A. E., and WHITE, B. H. V. Dec. 10, 1942, No. 17563. [Class 146 (ii)] A terrestrial globe is provided with an adjustable arcuate scale B in the form of a semicircle or circle of stainless steel, which is graduated in miles or metres to enable the distance between any two points on the earth's surface to be determined. The scale is pivotally mounted in a slide E, which is adjustably secured by a set-screw G at any point along the arc or ring D, in which the globe is supported. Two slides E may be provided at opposite sides of the globe. The globe may be illuminated from inside.
