Abstract
560,512. Trailer vehicles. DYSON, J., POLLARD, T. A., and BARKER, S. Jan. 30, 1943, No. 1602. [Class 108 (i)] A trailer adjustable for low-loading has the front of the chassis 1 pivoted at 2 to the casing 3 of a structure having medially anchored to it by a yoke 4 above the pivot 2 a spring 5 shackled at 6 to the chassis and coupled at its forward end to a fork piece 8 upwardly and downwardly adjustable in the casing 3, which is coupled to a bearing block 16 swivelling on the steering axle 17 of the front wheels 19. Downward adjustment of the fork piece 8 to lower the chassis front end to the position shown in Fig. 3 is effected by worm and nut gearing operated by cranks 14. The rear end of the chassis is adjustable to the positions shown by a crank 28 for shortening or lengthening the amount of cable connecting a pin 32 on the chassis to a frame 24, carrying the rear wheels and pivoted at 25 to the chassis.
