[Also in Group XXXIV] Stabilizing means for a perambulator comprises at least one support member carried on the chassis and extending from a point forward of the points of contact of the front wheels with the ground to a point rearward of the points of contact of the rear wheels with the ground, the, or each, support, being pivotally mounted for moving from a stored position relatively remote from the ground into an operative position relatively close to the ground, and inversely. In the arrangement shown, in which front and rear brackets 2 and 3 are secured to parallel spring members 1 and on which front and rear wheel-axles 4 and 5 respectively are carried by the bracket 3, support bars 6 are pivoted to the brackets 2 and 3 and are urged to a stored position by springs 9 and 12. Each bar 6 is pivotally connected through a link arm 14 to the forked end of a vertically movable bar 15 which is also provided with end wheels or rollers 17 which co-operate with the rear brackets 3. A stop 3* on each bracket 3 limits downward movement of bar 15 and upward movement of the bar 6. A front wheel brake comprising a resilient metal strip 18 extending transversely of the perambulator and pivoted to each spring 1 is secured centrally thereof to a draw arm 20 which is connected through a pivoted crank arm 21 to an axle lug 22. An extension of the arm 20 serves as a foot lever 23, to which is secured a slotted arm 24 which engages a stud 26 carried by the bar 15. The arrangement is such that upon downward movement of lever 23 the brakes are applied prior to the downward movement of the support bars 6 and upon upward movement of the lever 23 the brakes are released before the support bars 6 are raised to their stored position.
