Abstract
413,527. Articulated vehicles. TASTENHOYE, H., 262, Chaussee de Ninove, Brussels. Sept. 30, 1933, Nos. 26985 and 26986. Convention dates, Oct. 24, 1932 and July 20, 1933. [Class 79 (iii).] In articulated vehicles the trailer comprises a chassis consisting of a central bar 1 having a transverse rod 2 to which are pivoted arms 5 carrying at one end support wheels 9 and at the other coupling hooks 6, which, when the trailer is positioned close to the attaching bar 41, provided with a rotatable sleeve 42, are adapted to engage such bar on the arms 5 together with the supporting wheels 9 being raised by a screwed rod 11. In modifications, an extension A is provided rigidly secured to the rod 2 which extension is adapted to be coupled to a lever C pivoted to the motor vehicle frame near to the rear axle, the coupling being by movable hooks 6 as heretofore or by a member C, Fig. 10, projecting into the extension A and being coupled by means of a ball M which is pressed into a recess when a wedge-shaped slide I is retracted in lifting the supporting wheels 9 by the screwed rod 11. Fig. 4 shows an arrangement breaking the circuit to the rear lamp of the motor vehicle and making that to the trailer lamp when the vehicles are coupled. The lamp of the motor vehicle is in circuit through lead 45, metal band 44 and insulated stud 46, but when the insulating band 49 on the rod 2 is approached during coupling the spiral 44 forces the stud 46 away from contact and contact to the trailer lamp 27, Fig. 2, is made through metal band 48 and lead 51.
