Coupling and steering mech. anism for trailers of motor vehicles comprises links e, f. g arranged in the form of a trapezium, the broad base g being in the form of a bar pivoted at its middle point h to the trailer l. The links e f, are jointed to the ends oi the bar and to pivot bolts b, c, provided at the ends of the small base of the trapezium situated on the tractor a at the rear of the rear axle the line connecting the bolts b, c, being substantially par allel to the rear axle of the tractor. A link k is connected to the bar g and to the steering mechanism of the trailer. The link k may be connected with the bogie or truck of the trailer &c.
