1334841 Steering trailers CRANE FRUEHAUF TRAILERS Ltd 11 Sept 1972 42094/72 Heading B7H A semi-trailer comprises a rotatable coupling plate 5 for engagement with the fifth wheel of a tractor, a lever 9 connected at one end to the coupling plate 5 by a push/pull link 12, and a rotatable multiple axle bogie 2 connected to the lever 9 by tension members 10, 10<SP>1</SP>, the rear axle 4 of the bogie 2 being rotatably mounted, and a link 11 connecting a point G on the trailer offset from the centre of rotation H of the bogie 2 and a point J on the rear axle 4 offset from the centre of rotation K of the axle on the bogie. The coupling plate 5 carries a V-shaped block for engaging the slot in the fifth wheel when the semi-trailer is coupled to the tractor. The invention may be applied to a draw-bar trailer having a rotatable front bogie.
