Abstract

1,249,134. Vehicle couplings. COUNTY COMMERCIAL CARS Ltd. 10 Sept., 1969 [1 Oct., 1968], No. 46594/68. Heading B7T. A road going tractor 16 provided with a fifth wheel coupling plate 15 may be modified using an adapter 18 to tow a cross-country trailer 10 provided with a socket coupling part 12, the adapter comprises a king pin 19 adapted to engage with the plate 15, a collar and bolt preventing pivoting of the plate about a horizontal axis 17, and a ball 20 to be engaged by the socket 12 for universal movement.
