A device comprising a frame 21 supported by springs upon an axle upon which is mounted a pair of double wheels 11, 12, 13, 14 is interposed between a semi-trailer and a tractor, the frame 21 carrying a fifth wheel coupling 24 for engagement by the king pin of the semi-trailer and a king pin 25 and wedge 26 for engaging the fifth wheel coupling of the tractor. The device may also comprise a parking leg 31 controlled by a hand wheel 32 and a hand wheel 33 for operating parking brakes.
