Abstract
919,537. Articulated vehicles. CAMPBELL & McGILL Ltd., Nov. 7, 1960 [Dec. 30, 1959], No. 16688/61. Divided out of 919,536. Class 79(3). [Also in Group XXXII] An articulated vehicle comprises a tractor portion A pivoted to a trailer portion B, the arrangements for steering the vehicle by producing relative movement between parts A and B being as described in Specification, 919,536. The rear part B of the. vehicle comprises a frame 9, 6, 7 to which is pivoted at 8 the tipping body 4. A hydraulic ram 7 is connected to the frame 6 and to the body 4 on each side of the vehicle, and by expanding the rams, the body is tipped, Fig. 3, and in so doing, the wheels 5, are moved nearer the fore part of the vehicle. The wheels of the two parts may be braked independently so that the action of tipping the body may be used to assist movement in marshy ground.
