Abstract
1,120,835. Articulated vehicles. CHASESIDE ENG. CO. Ltd. 1 Sept., 1965 [25 Aug., 1964], No. 34679/64. Heading B7H. In an articulated vehicle comprising a front portion 3 pivotally connected about a vertical axis midway between front and rear driving axles to a rear portion 6 on which is mounted an engine 7, the rear axle alone is pivotal about a longitudinal horizontal vehicle axis relative to the engine and at least one pair of crossed links extend between the portions 3, 6 each link extending from one side of the vehicle to the other. The arrangement ensures that the midpoints of the axles remain a constant distance apart during steering which is preferably accomplished by hydraulic rams.
