Abstract

1399611 Vehicle cab suspensions FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 10 Nov 1972 51926/72 Heading B7D A motor vehicle cab suspension includes at each side of the forward end of the cab a front suspension assembly comprising a longitudinal link 13 pivotally connected to brackets 11, 12 bolted to the vehicle chassis 10 and the cab respectively, and a coil spring 16 is interposed between bracket 10 and a point on the link 13 adjacent its pivotal connection to the bracket 11. A telescopic lamp 26 is connected between the bracket 12 and link 13. Rubber bump stops 23, 24 carried by a rod 20 pivotally connected to the link 13 co-operate with a frusto-conical housing 18 which extends through an aperture 35 in the bracket 12 and has a flange 19 held between the bracket and the cab. A forward extension 30 of the link 13 is formed with a square recess which receives one end of an anti-roll bar extending between the suspension assemblies on opposite sides of the cab. A rearward extension 33 of the link 13 is formed with a socket 34 for connection to an hydraulic ram for tilting the cab about the pivotal connection between the link 13 and bracket 11.
