A tilt cab for a vehicle is biased to the raised position by a pair of transverse torsion rods. 992,605. Motor vehicle spring suspensions. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. April 27, 1964 [May 31, 1963], No. 21823/63. Heading B7D. In a motor vehicle suspension, quarter elliptic leaf-springs 3, 17 connect each end of a rigid rear axle 1 to the body 5, a panhard rod 35 is pivotally connected about longitudinal vehicle axes to the axle 1 and the body 5, and combined self-levelling shock-absorber/spring units 39 are connected between each end of the axle 1 and the body 5. The left-hand spring 3 comprises a single leaf clamped between a plate 13 and a mounting member 11 seated on the axle by U-bolts surrounding a rubber bush 7 and retaining brackets 16 for the unit 39. The right-hand spring comprises a blade 19 and a stiffener blade 21 clamped between a plate 31 and a mounting member 23 both extended to form a mounting for the panhard rod 35.
