Abstract

1310485 Overturn and weather guards DEERE & CO 22 April 1971 [23 April 1970] 10787/71 Heading B7B In a combined overturn and weather guard, particularly for a tractor, the weather guard support frame is resiliently and detachably mounted on the overturn guard such that only vertical oscillation may occur. Overturn guard uprights 10, adapted to be mounted at each end of the vehicle axle and interconnected by a crossbar, carry at each side one of a pair of plates 20, 21 (Figs. 3, 4, not shown) these plates having forward and rear inturned flanges (23), (24) and (26, 27) and a rearward semicircular recess 28. A rear transverse support frame member 32 is received in the recess 28 and secured, with interposition of resilient sleeves 40, by brackets 41, 42 bolted to the rearmost flanges (26), (27). A transverse strengthening member 33, interconnecting the longitudinals 31 of the support frame is releasably connected to the forward flanges (23), (24) by means of a bracket 48 and resilient buffer 50. A roof 37 and front, side and rear awnings may be connected to the support frame to form a cab. The weather guard may be provided with resilient members adapted to be connected under tension to the vehicle. (For Figures see next column)
