Abstract

559,323. Conduits for electric conductors. SULLAM, S. D. Nov. 20, 1942, No. 16427. [Class 36] Conduits for electrical conductors are formed of standard lengths of insulating material divided longitudinally into two parts as A, B, Fig. 2, with interlocking or inter-fitting longitudinal edges 1, 2, formed of grooves and flanges. The sections are also formed with lugs 3 which receive screws for drawing the two parts 1, 2 together hermetically, and for securing the conduit to a wall. Some of the sections may be formed with grooves 4, Fig. 3, which permit sections of shorter length to be formed by breaking off part of a section. Adjoining sections may be connected by spigots and sockets, as shown in Fig. 5, and a rubber band 7 formed with an aperture 8 may assist to make a join, or a band may be fitted externally or internally to join two sections with plain ends. The sections may be connected by a claw 5 on one part engaging a slot 6 in an extension on another part as in Fig. 3. The conduits may be used on aeroplanes.
