557,946. Trueing grinding - wheels. COVENTRY GAUGE & TOOL CO., Ltd., and JELLIS, M. Aug. 14, 1942, No. 11377. [Class 60] A grinding-wheel is trued by a freely mounted crushing-roller which is traversed by a cam operated from the wheel, being lifted out of engagement therewith at the end of the traverse and returned by a spring. The ribbed crushing-roller 2 is carried by a member 16 which can be adjusted around a vertical axis by a worm 27 and is mounted in a head 3. The head 3 is traversed by means of a cam 7 driven through gearing 13 from the shaft 12 of the grinding wheel 4 and is returned by a spring 8. The roller is lifted during retraction by means of cam surfaces on a rod 20 fitted with adjustable stops 23.
