556,015. Trueing grinding-wheels. SOC. GENEVOISE D'INSTRUMENTS DE PHYSIQUE. March 24, 1942, No. 3905. Convention date, April 30,1941. [Class 60] Apparatus for trueing grinding-wheels for thread grinding, and comprising a tool holder slide mounted on a swivel base and sliding relatively thereto against a spring, is characterized bv the tool holder slide being provided with at least two trueing tools, the spring bearing against two abutments which are adjustable by equal amounts in the same direction, whereby the selected tool is brought into operation without varying the stress on the spring. The tool holder 3 is carried by a stud 6 fixed to a slide 7 mounted in an oscillating block 16a, carried on a sleeve 17. The slide is fitted with abutments 29a, 29b bearing against washers 28a, 28b between which is the spring 27, and behind which are nuts 30a, 30b mounted on an adjusting spindle 31. The diamonds are carried in mounts 2 adjustable to bring the diamond points into correct relation with the axis of oscillation 5 of the swivel base 16a, and an.adjustable stop 8 is provided against which a head 9 on the mount abuts, thus permitting the mount to be replaced accurately after retraction while the diamond is inoperative.
