557,652. Tyre inflators. TURNER, W. Oct. 3, 1942, No. 13921. [Class 8 (i)] An inflator comprises an outer stationary low-pressure cylinder 1 and an inner movable high-pressure cylinder 2 which forms the rod of the piston la of the low-pressure cylinder, the high-pressure piston 8 being mounted on a fixed hollow rod 6 forming a discharge passage ; the orifice 12 normally provided in the high-pressure cylinder 2 near the handle to avoid creating a vacuum on the up stroke is provided with a non-return valve 13 by which entering air is trapped for delivery past the piston 8 to mix with the air from the lowpressure cylinder.
