Abstract
791,811. Reciprocating pumps. PILLIN, Ltd., J. B., and SPINKS, S. A. E. Jan. 19, 1956 [Jan. 20, 1955], No. 1820/55. Class 102(1). A bucket piston 28 slidable in a cylinder 10 has an extension 36 forming a cylinder slidable over a fixed piston 15 and has an enlarged head 37 slidable in an enlargement 12 of the cylinder 10. Liquid is drawn into the space 12 through ports 14 and on the up stroke is forced through ports 38, annular space 9 and valve 21 in the piston 15 into the increasing space between the valve 21 and the bucket valve 35 through which it is delivered on the downstroke to the annular space 23. The areas of the piston 15 and space 23 may be arranged to give delivery from the space 23 on each stroke or an the upstroke only. Holes 39 permit the discharge of liquid from the enlargement 12 when the ports 14 have been closed on the downstroke.
