Abstract
556,962. Uniting by fusion soldering and brazing. MELICH, H. July 1, 1942, No. 9039. [Class 83 (iv)] Jigs for gas or electric arc welding or for brazing or soldering, comprise two or more turrets each provided with one or more clamping devices which are adjustable by means of couplings and hinged joints and can be set and secured in any desired position, the turrets being attached by adjustable clamps and couplings to a system of round rims attached to each other by like clamps and couplings. Each turret T, T1, may have mounted thereon a vice W, V-block V, and a clamping plate P. These clamping devices are each attached to one flange of a coupling C the other flange of which is hinged by a bolt B1 to a slotted link H, which is mounted between lugs L of the turret on a bolt B2, so that the clamping device may be arranged as shown in Fig. 2 or in a central position as shown in Fig. 4 or in intermediate positions. The flange carrying the clamping device is adjustable in a full circle around the axes of the coupling and is secured in position by a clamping ring R and bolt B. The turrets have extensions E, which are longitudinally and angularly adjustable in and secured by bolts B3 to one of the sockets TC of a joint J, the sockets being secured to the flanges of a coupling C provided with a clamping ring R and bolt B and the other socket being secured to one leg of an elbow rod K the other leg of which is connected by a similar joint J to a straight bar CR itself connected by a similar joint J to a column CO.
